My name is Zac Wilson. I was born and raised in Holladay and am a third-generation resident of our beautiful city. I attended Crestview Elementary, Olympus Junior High, and Olympus High School. At the latter two, I had the chance to serve as student body vice president. I served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in New York City and Long Island, attended Brigham Young University, receiving a bachelor’s degree in finance while serving as President of the Finance Society and Program Director for Student Alumni. (Don’t worry… many of my Nydegger, Diederich, and Brasher relatives bleed red.)
I belong to a wonderful family that taught me and my siblings the value of hard work and loving our neighbors. My pioneer ancestors came across the plains, and I could not be more grateful for their examples of perseverance and dedication to community.
I am honored to share my life with a remarkable woman, Mikaela, whom I recently married. She is a corporate attorney at an international law firm and also a law professor. We look forward to bringing several children into the world and raising them in Holladay.
I began my career on Wall Street, working for J.P. Morgan in their global headquarters. Our team oversaw billions of dollars for foundations, endowments, and families. During COVID, I moved back home to Holladay, bought a small house near Olympus High, and began working for a Holladay-based private equity firm. Since its early days, I have helped the company scale, overseen teams across the country, and displayed leadership in multiple divisions and various capacities. Our firm has taken an active, philanthropic role in the fight to preserve Utah housing prices.
I am currently serving on the Holladay Business Advisory Board and will be officially joining the Utah Division of Arts and Museums advisory council this summer. Mikaela serves on the board of a non-profit ballet company. As small business owners ourselves, we want to make sure Holladay businesses thrive.
I am an eternal optimist and am grateful for the chance to run to be your mayor. I look forward to meeting you in our charming neighborhoods.
